Large round yellow lights

Beacon the lonely nights

Taking in the lovely sights

among loud endless chatter

And muffled maimed laughter

A heavy heart’s golden hammer

Beats an even number

Severed soul soars solo,

Abandoning its troubled hollow

In the lofty heavens sweet sorrow

On fluffy fine clouds tis lain

To kiss velvet sky and feel alive again

Drinking the stars to heal the scars

I am much obliged to leave for mars

Persistent nagging pulls me back

Falling, tumbling, spinning, screaming

The battered heart helplessly crawling

Back to its bloody, bereaved abode

You can run, you can hide

And find yourself a bride

But you cannot escape your mind.
